Woodlands have also been our places of magic and mystery, and here you will also find their stories: wood maidens, faery guardians, forbidden fruits (rowan, surprisingly, not apple), trees that tell secrets or hide treasure, hanging trees, honest woodcutters, terrifying wild boars and rugged outlaws, including of course greenwood legend Robin Hood.
